EDGe Erosion & Grinding Machine Launch

ANCA is launching the new EDGe erosion and tool grinding machine at EMO 2013. The EDGE has the flexibility to erode  PCD (polycrystalline diamond) tools and grind carbide and HSS tools on the same machine. It is suitable for a wide variety of tools and applications. The EDGe-Spark generator monitors and controls the energy level of every spark for optimum surface finish, material removal and cycle time. ANCA's user-friendly ToolRoom software enables fast and versatile tool design supported by the known robust reliability of ANCA machine design.


And the other new products that will be there...

Other machines on the ANCA stand will include the TXcell, MX7, MX5 and FastGrind tool grinders.

ANCA has released several new products recently which will also be on show at EMO. These include:

  • MicroPlus workholding system
  • FastLoad and FastLoad-MX Compact Loaders
  • RoboMate Vision System for detecting coolant holes in drills 
  • Premier Collet Adaptors

The MicroPlus workholding and tool support system reduces tool runout to less than 3 micron. The MicroPlus system consists of the Flexi-Chuck assembly for workholding and the Overhead Top Clamp assembly (OTC) for tool support. The patented new Flexi-Chuck design allows the tool and internal components to move independently of each other minimising any misalignment. A specially designed demonstration unit will be available for visitors to see how it works for themselves. The MicroPlus will also be installed on the MX5 tool grinder.


Visitors will also be able to use a demonstration unit to test out the new Premier Collet adaptor. Premier Collets are a workholding range with internal clamping mechanism to control tool runout.

FastLoad Compact Loaders are contained within the machine and use existing machine axes for machine movement and tool loading. This saves valuable factory space and provides a low cost option for automation. They will be demonstrated on the FastGrind and MX7 tool grinders at EMO.ANCA FastLoad.jpg

The new RoboMate Vision System was developed for customers who need to detect internal coolant holes on drills that deliver coolant directly to the tip of the drill. The RoboMate Vision System uses the robot to place the drill under the camera before loading it into the machine. The camera ensures it is loaded into the collet in the correct orientation for flute grinding. This is more productive than using touch probe digitising of coolant holes as the Vision System reduces overall manufacturing cycle time. The RoboMate and Vision System can be seen in action on the MX5 during EMO.


See an ERP tool processing system integrated with the TXcell

ANCA will be demonstrating an ERP (enterprise resource planning) tool processing system using the TXcell tool grinder with integrated robot work cell. The complete tool manufacturing system will demonstrate how you can reduce lead time and eliminate errors using RFID (radio-frequency identification) or barcode technology.

ANCA software application specialists will give visitors the opportunity to use ANCA's new ToolRoom 2012 and CIM3D V7 3D simulation software. They will be demonstrating CIM3D's 30% faster simulation time and new integrated 3D graphics in iGrind.

ANCA won the Large Advanced Manufacturer award at the 2012 50th Australian Export Awards and both the Manufacturer of the Year and the Exporter of the Year at the Endeavour Awards in Australia in 2013. These awards were recognition of the commitment the company has to continuous improvement. ANCA continues to make considerable investment in state-of-the-art factory equipment and R&D. Many new products were released in the last year, with more on the way.
