We are currently seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer in our Bayswater Head Office reporting through to the AMT Quality Team Leader.
Key accountabilities of the role will include but are not limited to;

  • Investigate non-conformances from production to identify root causes and initiate necessary permanent corrective actions.
  • Measurement of parts for compliance to specification
  • Assist in receiving, verifying and disposition of Non-Conforming parts
  • Assist with quarantining of Non-Conforming parts
  • Assist production planning with relevant transactions.
  • Liaise with internal and external suppliers, engineering & manufacturing when necessary
  • Responsible for performing inspection related work on time and on quality of the internal and external parts
  • Processing NCR
  • Assist in providing training to operators as required

Continuous improvement


  • Work with manufacturing and quality associates and show initiative in continuous improvement activities to improve manufacturing, measurement, and quality assurance activities to improve both the product and process.
Quality Systems
  • Ongoing help with developing and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing and evaluation utilizing engineering knowledge – mechanical, electrical or software
  • Participates in the process of continuous improvement by providing concise, complete and accurate and quality reports on a timely basis
  • Provide suggestions to improve the quality system
Quality Audits & Waste Management
  • Conduct audits, including closing out audits findings and create reports to determine proper corrective and preventative actions
  • Manage and optimize the product quality by working with Manufacturing and assisting in the implementation of standard processes, measures and maintained to the defined standard
  • Specialize in areas of quality control engineering such as incoming material, product evaluation, product reliability, inventory control, metrology, automated testing
  • Report NCR summaries and corrective actions to relevant authorities on time.
  • Input to the monthly report on in plant and supplied non-conforming material.
Ideally the successful candidate will possess the below skills, attributes and experience;
  • Tertiary qualification in an engineering discipline or Mechanical trade background
  • Comprehensive knowledge and use of quality measuring equipment
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience in casting, machining, surface treatment / finishing
  • and assembly processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings
  • Facilitate effective communication and consultation between departments, internal and external suppliers for interrelated quality issues.
  • Demonstrate a flexible and "can do" attitude
  • Able to work on agreed initiatives with minimal support
  • Demonstrated PC Skills (excel, word, MRP, PowerPoint and databases)
  • Knowledge of basic quality tools and their implementation as needed
  • Ability to lead and be part of problem solving teams
